Monica has a BS degree in Applied Mathematics and a MS degree in Computer Science, both from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She has been teaching math, computer information systems and computer science at PPSC and other schools for more than 20 years starting as part time and eventually becoming full time.
Before teaching, Monica spent 15 years working in industry, mostly for the Department of Defense on a real-time war gaming simulation used to train military personnel. In addition, she has worked for the Colorado State Lottery doing validation testing and done database programming.
